Three ways we support your development

01 - CAD & simulation support

We provide parametric CAD modelling and simulation for wearable and robotic hardware, from early concept sketches through to manufacture-ready assemblies. This includes structural and finite element analysis (FEA) to validate load paths before you cut metal or mould a single part, motion and biomechanical simulation to test how a device behaves on a moving human body, and rapid design iteration so concepts can be refined digitally before physical prototyping begins.

Whether you need a single component modelled or a full assembly simulated under real operating loads, we can slot into your existing design process or run the CAD and simulation work end to end on your behalf.

02 - Mechanical engineering consultation

Beyond CAD and simulation, we support the wider mechanical engineering challenges that come with developing robotics and exoskeleton systems: materials selection for weight, strength, and comfort trade-offs; mechanism and linkage design for joints and load-bearing structures; integration of actuators, sensors, and electronics into a mechanical housing; and design-for-manufacture reviews to keep a concept realistic to produce at scale.

This service is aimed at teams who need experienced mechanical engineering input at any stage of development, not just those starting from a blank page

03 - ASTM standards consultation

Viking works closely with ASTM in the development of standards for exoskeletons and robotics, and we bring that knowledge directly into client projects. We help teams understand which ASTM standards apply to their device, plan testing and validation activities against those standards, and structure documentation so compliance is built in from the design stage rather than retrofitted before launch.

This is particularly valuable for organisations preparing a wearable robotics product for commercial, defence, or clinical deployment, where standards compliance is a gating requirement rather than a nice-to-have.
