ExoGames brings together the best teams and technology in wearable robotics, and this year Viking Exos stepped in as an official sponsor. As part of that partnership, we were given a brief that combined two of the things we do best: structural engineering and rapid manufacturing. The result is the all-new ExoGames Cup.
Engineering the cup
Rather than simply restyling the existing trophy, we ran the original design through topological optimization, a simulation-driven process that strips material away from anywhere it isn't structurally needed. What's left is a lighter, more dynamic form that still stands up to the same loads as the original, validated through finite element analysis before a single part was printed.
- Full FEA validation of stress distribution and load paths under applied force
- Material reduced significantly compared to the original cup design, without sacrificing structural integrity
- Final geometry manufactured using additive (3D-printed) production
- Winning trophy coins also designed and 3D-printed in-house by the Viking team
What's next
With the cup and trophy coins now complete, our focus shifts to ExoGames 2026 itself, sadly this year we will only be vital due to some conflicting business. We're proud be presenting the on Tuesday of the event.
